Beware of Phishing Attempts

Beware of Phishing Attempts

Authored By: NSCCU on 2/21/2024

Scammers are always trying to con victims out of their information and money. Unfortunately, they are often successful. Scammers are expert impersonators, using sophisticated technology and their best acting skills to convince you they represent a business, institution or government agency you may trust.

With a phishing scam, they attempt to get you to share personal information via a bogus form or website.  One common phishing attempt is creating a fake website, impersonating a legitimate financial institution. They may copy images from the real website and copy the company's logo to try to make the site look legitimate.  If available, they may even use a website url that is close to, or a misspelling of, the real organization's website address.

To get members to fall into their trap, they may send out an email or text message indicating that your account has been locked or they need to verify information, leading you to the fraudulent website.

To keep yourself safe from these scams, please make sure you only use our official mobile banking app from the App Store or Google Play, or our official website at northstarccu.com (or nsccu.com for short) to log into Anytime Online.  No other variation of that website address is legitimate (such as a slight misspelling like northstarrcu.com). Official emails from us will come from a name @northstarccu.com, or @email.northstarccu.com.

Please do not provide your login credentials to any other website.  If you are unsure if you are on the correct site, or think you may have entered your information into a fraudulent website; please contact us immediately.

Log-In from official website at northstarccu.com
