Sanford Children’s Miracle Network Fundraiser
At North Star Community Credit Union, Community Involvement is at the core of our organization. When we can get our members and employees involved with our community events that support a worthy cause, the impact is truly extraordinary. Recently, North Star Community Credit Union organized a remarkable fundraiser benefitting the Children’s Miracle Network Hospital, Sanford Children’s in Fargo, ND. Through a delightful combination of Branch Bake Sales and a Penny War, the credit union rallied with our communities to raise funds for this vital children’s hospital in our state.
North Star Community Credit Union took the lead in organizing this exceptional fundraiser. By leveraging our strong community presence in our branches and our unwavering commitment to social responsibility, we were able to inspire and engage not only our members but also our employees in this fundraising event. We celebrate the generosity and unity of our staff and members that made this fundraiser a success.
The bake sale fundraiser was organized in each of North Star Community Credit Union’s branches and was nothing short of extraordinary. From delectable cakes and cookies to scrumptious muffins and bread, the display of baked goods was simply amazing. Credit union staff members contributed their time and culinary talents to showcase an impressive assortment of treats.
In addition to the bake sale, the staff Penny War added an element of friendly competition and excitement to the fundraisers. Containers were set up in the credit union’s branches and in community locations, in some of our markets, where individuals and employees could donate spare change. The rules were simple, pennies and bills counted as positive points, while silver coins counted as negative points. The competition fostered a sense of camaraderie among participants, as they vied to have the highest positive point balance in their containers. It was an engaging and enjoyable way for our staff and our communities to get involved and support a vital cause.
The success of this fundraiser would not have been possible without the unwavering support and participation of our staff members and local communities. The credit union’s members showed immense generosity and dedication by actively participating in the bake sale and the Penny War. The event became a true reflection of the community’s spirit, highlighting their commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of children in need.
North Star Community Credit Union’s bake sale and Penny War fundraiser for Sanford Children’s Hospital showcased the true spirit of community engagement and philanthropy. By organizing a delightful event that combined delicious treats with friendly competition, the credit union brought together individuals and staff to support a cause that touches the hearts of many. This successful fundraiser serves as a shining example of how when driven by a strong sense of social responsibility, communities can mobilize to create a lasting impact.
Thanks to the collective efforts of North Star Community Credit Union, their members, and the community at large, the fundraiser achieved remarkable results. The funds raised through the fundraiser totaled in at $4,360.14, and thanks to a Miracle Match Donation from Credit Union Co-op of $5,000, we were able to donate $9,360.14 that will directly benefit Sanford Children’s Hospital, allowing them to continue providing critical medical care, advanced equipment, and essential support services to children and their families in North Dakota and surrounding areas. Every penny donated during this event will help make a difference in the lives of these young patients, offering them hope and a brighter future.
Through this fundraiser, North Star Community Credit Union had the privilege of touring Sanford Children’s Hospital, an incredible level two trauma center, in Fargo, North Dakota. Upon entering the hospital, we were enveloped in an atmosphere of unwavering strength where heroes, big and small, fought their battles with immense courage and determination.
As we toured the children’s portion of this incredible facility, we could feel the impact that this hospital has on these children’s and their families’ lives. By supporting this children’s hospital, we are offering them the resources they need to continue their invaluable work, providing top-notch care, and bringing smiles to the faces of those who need it the most.
Those of us who attended the tour and check presentation reflected on this experience later and were filled with gratitude – for the opportunity to witness the strength and resilience of these young heroes and for the privilege of being part of a community that believes in the power of hope. Together, in our community and in our organization, we can make a profound impact on the lives of others, one kind act at a time.
