Introducing the Aurora Community Foundation

Building on decades of community investment and the credit union philosophy of People Helping People, North Star Community Credit Union is proud to announce the official launch of the Aurora Community Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. The charitable foundation was established to expand the organization’s ability to strengthen communities and support those who dedicate their lives to serving others.

For generations, North Star Community Credit Union has given back through volunteerism, sponsorships, scholarships, donations, and community partnerships. Created in response to the growing need for community-focused support, particularly in rural areas, the Aurora Community Foundation provides a dedicated way to build upon that legacy and invest more deeply in the communities North Star serves.

Guided by its mission to serve the people who serve others, the foundation will support programs and initiatives that promote unity, economic stability, education, and community development. Its efforts will focus on agriculture, military members and families, educators, first responders, cooperatives, and medical professionals. These groups represent the people whose daily work strengthens communities, supports economic growth, and improves quality of life for others.

With a vision of building economically strong, sustainable, and connected communities, the foundation plans to create meaningful impact through charitable giving, strategic partnerships, educational opportunities, community development initiatives, and future funding programs. Its initial focus will be communities throughout North Dakota and the surrounding region, with opportunities for broader impact explored through future collaboration and community engagement.
