NSCCU Wins State Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Award

North Star CCU is honored to have been awarded the state-level Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Award for 2021. These prestigious awards recognize credit unions that have excelled in community relations and are committed to ongoing charitable programs within their communities. Credit unions can receive the award for involvement in most activities that help other people or strengthen the structure of a community. This may include raising funds for charity, educational activities, or community involvement projects.

The Dora Maxwell Award is named for the credit union pioneer who worked to improve the living standards of the underserved. She held numerous volunteer positions at the local and national level in addition to organizing hundreds of credit unions and worked with many organizations on behalf of the poor. Credit unions can receive the award for involvement in almost any kind of activity that helps other people or strengthens the structure of a community.
